You will look like a damn fool. Our hair will NEVER look like their hair. You need to just accept what you have, you really don't have a choice. And ma'am under me, my hair is as straight as any black girls hair can get. When I say our hair will never be like theres I was referring to the texture. You know it, he knows it, i know it. And why in the world would I be jealous of a guys hair that I've never seen??

The best way is to ask your stylist for a mild relaxer. They may want to do a patch test first to see if you are allergic or to see your skins reaction. If no reaction, than have them give you one. It might not seem as silky as Caucasian hair, but it will be straight. African American hair is very coarse and dry and that is why it won't be silky. You will need to get a good shampoo and conditioner after you get it relaxed so that you can put back the proteins and nutrients that was taken out from the relaxer. If you choose not to do the relaxer then, the only other option is if you blow dry straight and use a flatiron. I don't know how long your hair is now, but I would really recommend the relaxer. I'm not going to put you down, because as a mixed girl myself, I have naturally curly hair. I USED to relax my hair, then stopped.

You should try a relaxer....or a texturizer.

BUT, as a black person, your hair has a natural curl pattern (not in all cases, some black people do have straight hair...), and it will not be as straight as a white persons hair.

FYI - black hair is FRAGILE as the natural curl pattern causes the hair to have 'bends and twists'. Black hair is also dry and requires MOISTURE.

WARNING:::: IF YOU STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR, YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE TWICE AS MUCH MOISTURE.

Go to Sallys or any beauty supply store in your area and get a flat iron or relaxer. I don't know if you are doing this temporary or not but once you have a relaxer in, you must maintain twice as much than natural, by deep conditioning, moisturizing, etc. It seems alot for a male but hey, if that what you want to do, go for it. I suggest a flat iron though than putting chemicals in your head.
