Question about African-American hair?

For my sista's...is there a way to have that curly/wavy natural look if you already have a relaxer?

Question about African-American hair?

I would shampoo the hair and while it wet apply a leave-in conditioner. Comb it through a use a good amount of styling mousse. You can have some one do this or you could try it yourself... anyway, you will begin to do a twistie on your scalp as if you are twisting hair like you would on little girl's pony tails, except you do that on the scalp. Its almost like you are doing a cornrow, except you are only using two strands of hair all the way back to the nape of the neck. Once you get to the end, wrap your hair on a roller. Continue this and then sit under the dryer until dry. Take off rollers and apply some " HOT SIX OIL" to your hands and carefully unwind your cornrow twistie. Make sure to oil the hair as you go along, otherwise if you do it at the end it will frizz. You will come out with a natural wavy hairstyle. ANOTHER TIP: if you desire a larger deeper wave, create more cornrow twisties(6-8). If you want a smaller tighter wave like you do even more twisties (15)

Hope this helps!

Question about African-American hair?

there is no such thing you are one or the other IE you are an African, black or an American white

Question about African-American hair?

Well several ways depending on the texture of your hair. Even with a relaxer if your hair is curly when you wash it can stay curly if you condition and leave it out. there are many products now for those who want curls as well. Try a curl volumizer or restorer of some sorts. then there is always my fav option... wet and wavy weave. this is the most assured way to have curls although your hair may be relaxed. The natural look is in style and there are many weaves around that look so natural even i am jealous.. ( i have natural hair , locs actually). You can have it in a ponytail or get it weaved into your head. weave is a good way to give relaxed hair a break... good luck to you !
