Slick them back or like my hair stylist does you can get this spray for streaks (get black if your hair is black). You can spray that on and cover up your thinning sides. It does have alcohol in it so, I don't think you should use it everyday.

It's always difficult to cover up thinning hair, so what I would recommend is to shave your head. It sounds drastic, but after you can't cover up your bald spots anymore, shaving just makes it look cool. (I think so, anyways!)

If you're a guy get a hair cut where you can have the back of your head trimmed down to the level of the thinning hair, with the top styled. (If you don't mind the old "fade" cut look). Or go bald and grow a goatee......it'll draw attention away from your head, plus some of us females love goateed men. *_*
