I am an African American...how can i make my hair grow?

Hey!

Make sure to keep your ends oiled all the time! Ends break off easily because of this. Make sure to use carrot, olive, tea tree oils and massage your scalp regularly. Also stay away from heat -- rollers, pressing combs, chemicals. Braid your hair!

If you want more tips, email me!

Contrary to what alot of other women do, make sure you wash it frequently. At least every other day. All to often, many black women keep laying on "greases", which are mostly made up of mineral %26amp; petroleum oils. Those only dry out the hair in the long run, %26amp; it clogs up the hair follicles.

And make sure to use all-natural products, like castille soap for shampooing. (I get it for $2 at Trader Joe's).

In the meantime, I grew out my hair all natural with twist-outs %26amp; braid-outs. There are alot of great hair "journey" photo albums on fotki.com. It helped me through the process. Good luck!

Don't use weave! I grew out my hair really long with a relaxer by getting my hair roller wrapped every saturday (I learned to do it myself... really inexpensive). At night I would spray oil sheen on my hair before I would wrap it in a silk scarf. Try to get your ends trimmed when you go for your relaxer, which should be every 6-8 weeks. I guarantee that your hair will grow and you will notice the difference in the next 6 months!
