First of all make sure you use a wide tooth comb and don't comb it dry, at least wet it with a spray bottle if you have to. Baby shampoo is actually TERRIBLE for the hair. The reason it is "nor more tears" is because it has saline in it...(saline as in salty tears) and of course saline IS SALT, salt is DRYING to the hair and scalp. And baby oil is actually drying to the skin, it is designed to repel moisture, that is why it is so good on a baby at diaper time, it repels the moisture from the diaper away from the bottom...

There is an AWESOME baby moisturizer for AA babies/kids hair. It is called Baby Love, or something like that. You won't use anything else after you have tried it. You can buy it a Walmart, or a beauty supply store.

I would use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo, it's very gentle. I don't know if it's true (I'm white) but I have heard you are only suppose to wash their hair every other day or it could fall out. Ask a pediatrician to be sure.
