African American women hair loss......?

i have been sheading hair like a dog. Its EVERYWHERE. I am only 22yrs old! What can I do?

African American women hair loss......?

If you perm your hair, stop. Also, if you dont brush your hair every day, it could just be the dead hair that wasn't removed from pervious days. You lose 100 strands of hair every day. What I usually do is deep condition my hair once every week and keep it moisturized. Don't use those hardining gels (Pro-Style for example) because they dry the hell out your hair. Last thing, I can't remember the name of it, but if you go to the African-American hair section in stores, the have these jars of anti-breakage creme (There's a black chick with long reddish hair on the label) that you can use. It is light, smells good, it's inexpensive, and works very well.

I'm wayyy younger than that and I don't lose as much as you seem to but I do lose hair. I asked my stylist and she says that usually when black women lose hair its because of chemical damage.

If you have ever colored your hair, gotten a perm, or even apply lots of heat to your hair,it could result in breakage.

Simple things like stopping the use of hair color can save your hair. Make sure your perms are done properly and on time. Don't wait to long and not to soon because that causes TONS of breakage. If heat is your problem, switch to a ceramic one. They are easier on your hair and make breakage minimal .

An easier way is to simply keep your hair moist. Apply olive oil hair lotions and grease to your hair and massage it into your scalp. Keep the front braided as often as possible and make sure the back (where breakage is usually worst) is always brushed down and hair combed out.

Hope I helped.

Relaxing? Stop. Those chemicals are probably killing already dead hair cells. Try wearing protective hair styles (not too tight braids, wigs, no glue weaves, etc) for a few months. Also it may be time to switch hair products. Don't use products with alcohol in them and make sure you deep condition at least once a month.

Are you drinking plenty of water? Drink more.

The only thing I use on my hair is Shea Butter, using more than three products at a time can be more damaging than helpful.
