How would you make African-American hair look naturally curly?

Like a Spanish type of look, where it's tame but curly and natural-looking at the same time. Does it require going to the salon or can you do it at home. Is it an easy process?

It depends on how thick it is. I know exactly what you are talking about. Try a really good deep conditioner. If this doesn't work then a texturizer should do it. Texturizers aren't as strong as perms, they still leave some of the natural curl in there. Perms would just straighten the hair.

Because I dont know your hair, it would be hard to say. I would defiantly go to the salon. They may have a special product, or maybe even a perm. Anything is possible, it may be more difficult to do, but they can do different things depending on your hair.
