Braids help my hair grow out. but you have to put hair conditioning in it to keep it from getting so dry.

If your hair is fragile and breaks off easily getting braids wouldn't be your best bet. Unless its zillions or single braids. Braids straight to the back will only pull your edges up and off.

maybe u need a better conditioner....or maybe your hair is shedding like mine....................no the braids will not make your hair fall out more it actually makes ppl hair grow............

I would use a good leave in conditioner and moisturizer, not braid my hair too close to my scalp, and not leave the braids in too long.

Make sure the moisturizing product doesn't have alcohol in it, as this will dry out your hair, many do!! African Gold Super Sure Grow is a 100% natural product with coconut oil and other good stuff, it works well, as well as Ultra Sheen for extra dry hair.

Have you looked into why your hair is falling out? I'd consult a specialist, and make sure your body isnt lacking some essential vitamins or something.

Hope this helps.

You can get braids but if your hair is weak and falling out you may just want to get it treated. My friend has an all natural hair care company...You can visit her website and/or email her there and she can give you some great tips on what to do-

Or even call her....take care-

Is your hair falling out or breaking off? If it's falling out you will see a small white bulb on the scalp end of the hair called the folicle. If a lot of hair is falling out, you probably should see the dermatologist or examine your diet. You may need more protein. If it's falling out, braids won't help. When you remove the braids, the hair will still come out.

If it's breaking off because of stress, styling or chemicals, braids are a good idea. Having the braids will give your hair some rest. Keep in mind that you still need to condition your hair. You can use something like Infusium spray leave in conditioner.

Don't get the braids too tight or leave them in too long. Also, unless you have to, don't add in extra hair. Human hair tends to pull moisture from your hair and synthetic hair doesn't look as good as human hair.

Hope this helps u

Hi. I feel you. I had the same problem. Normally you lose between 50-100 hairs daily, but if its excessive, you need vitamins. You should take a multivitamin and a separate hair vitamin like GNC healthy hair nails and skin. When taking hair vitamins, be careful of taking the high dose ones because it might be too much (some people do that thinking their hair will grow faster).

Braids do make your hair grow, but it depends. Get medium braids. Dont get micro braids, you will lose your hairline and more hair. Dont get big braids - they will put too much pressure on your scalp. Dont let anyone braid it too tight. And dont go cheap either. Those cheap african hair salons will not do. No offense, I had a very bad experience with them. I went from midback to mid-neck hair. Imagine taking out braids and having your all your hair fall out and break off into knotted clumps. Go to someone who deals with natural hair care to braid your hair. The more money you pay, the more care that stylist will give you. Moisturize daily if you get braids. Dont let it dry out, it will dry your hair and you WILL have problems.

You should drink lots of water daily and be proactive in a healthier diet with more fruits and vegetables. There are a few websites that have helped me greatly. You should check it out. It will show you how to take care of your hair better, how to shampoo, how to comb, and lots more.

I have also changed the products that I use because lots of products out here have chemicals that just dry my hair out and then gives my hair problems and more hair loss. Keeping your hair moisturized is a big factor in having less hair loss. Here are some websites to browse:

www.sizta2sizta.com

www.sistasplace.com

www.curls.biz

www.curlicious.com

www.janecartersolution.com

www.qhemetbiologics.com

www.honeyfig.com

www.nasabb.com - they have free sample pack 4.00 for shipping. The shea butter is great for moisturizing hair. I mix it with Africas Herbal best oil.

You should also deep condition once a week. It will keep your hair strands strong. Hope this helps somewhat. God bless.
