I would think for cleanliness in clinicals braids would work. However I guess a perm keeps braids healthy. I'm white, but my boyfriend is from Nigeria so I have a little clue lol. Anyway braids or maybe (depending on the length of your hair) just try pulling it back for times when it needs to be out of the way.
