How do I care for the hair of a two year old african american little girl?
Okay... let me start with this...It's not a hard task...First buy products that's designed for african american hair...if you want to straighten her hair then you can use a hair relaxer on her hair..though you would have to make sure that it's not too strong because it will damage her hair severely..Use a relaxer that is for kids and has no lye in it.... if you want to just maintain it from day to day I would suggest you do not use alot of petroleum based products... Constantly condition her hair... and if you perfer you can use hair gels which doesnt contain alcohol..I left a link for you to view.....I hope I helped you...kisses hugs and shrugs...xoxo

Ok...do NOT load that baby's hair down with mineral oil or petrolatum-based products. If you do want to use oil, use natural oils like olive oil. Don't use a lot, and make sure you get to her scalp and massage it with the oil to stimulate growth. If you can't braid hair, take her to someone who can. Don't add synthetic hair to hers for length; it just breaks it off. More than anything else, be patient with her natural hair, and don't believe the hype that you have to put a relaxer in her hair to make it manageable.

Mix a small amount of baby lotion with a small of amount of hair pomade or vaseline in your hands, smooth it over her hair and braid. Please do not put a relaxer in her hair!! Yes, it will make it smooth and easy to comb, but it will damage her hair later in life. If you do not know how to braid or hot comb "press" her hair, please please please , take her to a reputable african american hair salon, and let someone who knows how to do so, do it correctly.
African American hair is very different from other races, it tends to be very dry, so it must be conditioned (oiled) daily, do not brush while wet, should not be washed every day, this dries it out further, typically, 1-2 times a week is sufficient. Relaxers make hair easy to handle in the short term, but long time use will make hair brittle and thin. If you can find someone to do so, I would advise having her hair hot-combed instead. Also, the easiest way to do would be to find someone to french-braid it (not with extensions or weaves) and leave it. Wrap it in a silk wrap for sleeping, and a good french braid style will last at least 1-2 weeks, take it down, wash, and braid it again.

DO PUT A RELAXER in her hair!!!! She is way too young for harsh chemicals to be put in her hair. You can use any pomade on her hair made for black hair. Just part the hair in little sections and put the pomade in the roots. You don't need to put in the strands...it will spread as you comb it. You can do single braids on her hair or cornrow it. you can part her hair in bigger sections and put hairties.in her hair, braid the strands, and put barretts on the tip. if you have When she's 10 or 11 years old, you can take her to the beauty salon or find someone who knows how to do braids, and add extensions so the braid can last longer (2-3 months). Let the hair take a break in between putting braids. If you have trouble, just find an African American woman who could do hair.
