i hate switching products i just wanna use one that works. i bought some castor oil but im wondering if my scalp is still gonna be dry and itchy (i have bad dandruff) anyone who uses or have used castor oil please tell me the changes u saw in ur hair if any. i just want something that i can stick with

I'm not sure if castor oil directly applied to the hair and scalp is good or bad but I do know the condition you describe (dry itchy scalp) could benefit from taking Omega 3-6-9 supplements, either in liquid form or pill form. You can find a good one in any health food store. It is wonderful mosturizing the skin, hair and nails from the inside out. It also make the hair grow faster.

sorry, i'm not african american, but i'll still put my two cents in. oil can do WONDERS for hair, as well as the scalp. from what i learned from the 2 black girls i lived with in college, your hair is prone to breakage and your scalp does not produce as much oil as other races (lucky!!! i cant go 2 days without washing my hair!!).

oil would indeed help with the dry scalp, and give your hair a great shine and texture, but you have to use it correctly, or you're going to look like you have a perma-jerry curl! i dont know if the usage is the same, but i've used olive oil on my hair, its makes it sooooo shiney and pretty, but this is how i used it (from and idea i saw on a show, cant remember the name, but the host was a black female that was saying how she used it). soak your hair in it, then use a trash bag to wrap it up and leave it in over night. that way the heat from your head can help it penitrate. in the morning wash as usual, and make sure you rinse a lot cause its going to be hard to get it all out.
