I am an African American teen so I may be able to help you with this. Try Hairsprays such as olive oil, S%26amp;B,Isoplus ect. Or possibly try moose, carrot oil, olive oil. Then top it off with a light gel like softee's clear gel it doesnt cake up all you have to do is comb it out without the pain and struggle.

if u straightnened your hair and it is not chemically relaxed it will never stay as straight as u probably want it... most hair products like greases and oils will only make the hair moist and make it draw up..... i think if u have naturally curly hair, u will need to try a perm(chemical relaxerz and u would not have to get it every 6-8 weeks lke normally if your hair is not bad hair.... but motions carry very good relaxers and hair products for colored woman.. also, creme of nature is good too....

I suggest you get you a good press and curl!!! The hot comb will get the job done. And to maintain you should flat iron every three days. You want to get a hair gloss not grease...the gloss gives you a nice shine(pink gloss is what I use). Go to a hairdresser and let her press it but remember to tell her no grease...grease weighs hair down big time. Also get you a heat protective spray this helps protect your hair from the heat. chemical relaxer (or Perm) is the norm for ethnic hair to straighten it out. Just be careful of your sensitive scalp since the chemical is sodium hydroxide, could get burn. also, there are regular, mild, relaxer depends on how coarse is your hair.

I used to work in a hair salon and product is the key. i have seen some white girls (Caucasian to be proper) do the most awesome African American hair!!! a good flat iron is key too. but a good conditioner and then a straightening serum to start as you are drying a straightening you need a type of spray shine or oil type serum to put on your hair before you put the flat iron on it. i have board straight hair a little passed my shoulders and I've seen some black women walk out of our salon with their hair looking as silky and straight as mine!!! they didn't even have to put the chemical straighteners on it. if you want, you can email me and i can suggest some product lines!!!!!

From one black woman to another, Queen Latifah, uses a hot comb/ pressing comb. it's old school and ya gotta know what you're doin but the results are awesome. Now as far as keeping it straight....this is a hard task for the black woman which is why weekly trips to a salon is usualy our religion!!! If the hot comb is not what you want to do then once you have had a good perm your stylist could flat iron your hair which is the style most women wear. the difference is no chemical. frizzes you'll need a good trim. most hair serums are not for black hair. only use products for your hair type......good luck

Girlfriend! To have straight and relaxed hair, you have to look at what your hair needs.1) wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo followed with the same brand conditioner.

2)Use a reconstructing conditioner( this type of product increase hair elasticity and makes your hair manageable)a least 2 times a month(for 20 minutes under a hooded dryer)

Do a tight wrapping(it make a big difference be sure of not having lumps or waves when doing it) when you dry your hair or do a roller set and use a ceramic iron to smooth the cuticle of your hair.

4)Use a good setting lotion

And its called "just for me" its for little girls, but it works abosutly amazing. Oh yea it is designed for african american hair. I promise you its amazing

well i have really out of contoll curly hair i used to use frizz easy just a pea size on my hand rubbed in to hands then gently combed through hair but not to much was great but now i get it chemically straightend which keeps it pin straight up to 6 weeks. gd luck!
